What to Expect
Editing is a medium between the author and the reader; if done well, this medium goes unnoticed. That is my goal. Readers notice when there are mistakes, but without mistakes, all they have left to focus on is the story, and that makes for a good book.
I offer a variety of services, including correction of basic typos and grammatical issues, checking for consistency, developmental advice, and formatting. I use track changes, so you, the author, are always aware of what I am doing to your book. I also keep in contact regularly. It is important for you to know what is going on with your book, so I like to email offering regular updates as well as checking in with the author if something seems too confusing or out of place so I don’t over-edit. When the book is finished, it is imperative that your voice and style still shine through the work. However, just because you’ve published your book does not mean you are on your own. You can contact me with any problems or questions, and I will be glad to help, even if it means going through the book again.
This is your book, and I will work closely with you the whole time to assure it stays that way.
